 Description

To perform physical heavy engine and machine overhauls, execute defensive preventative maintenance sequences, and return damaged primary diesel and mechanical assets to safe operational specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Heavy Subsystem Overhauls: Complete structural teardown, cleaning, component mapping, replacement, and precision reassembly of diesel blocks, complex multi-gear transmissions, heavy differential links, and primary hydraulic pumps.

• Preventative Maintenance Checklists: Execute rigorous scheduled maintenance protocols (fluid flush sequences, filter extractions, structural torque checks, valve adjustments) to stop small component wear from turning into catastrophic operational failure.

• Precision Calibration & Measurement: Use electronic data scanners alongside traditional mechanical precision instruments (micrometers, dial indicators, pressure gauges, torque wrenches) to calibrate settings exactly to OEM manuals.

• Field Card Documentation & Hours Tracking: Maintain highly meticulous, legible, and accurate task details on individual job cards. Document the exact durations worked and log the specific serial numbers of parts drawn from inventory for true billing.

• Workshop Safety Integration: Maintain clean, safe working areas around active vehicle lift paths. Safely isolate stored pressure systems and wear correct personal protective equipment (PPE) for welding, cutting, or hot fluid drains.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

• Vocational Trade Diploma or Certified Journeyman Trade License in Automotive, Diesel, or Industrial Heavy Machinery Mechanics

• 3+ years of field repair execution within heavy industrial, transport, or mine plant environments.

• Heavy diesel failure diagnostic tools, specialized mechanical system calibration; physical agility, strong hand dexterity, and safety compliance.
